The RP1
 

     The RP1 was the Composite Aircraft Studio's first all-composite sailplane. Although weighing in 56 pounds less than the RP2, the RP1 was actually heavier than anticipated. It had to be towed into the air at Schenectady County Airport, where it is currently on display.

RP1 (Sailplane)

Built in 1978, the RP1 was RPI's first all-composite, single seat glider.

Built during the 1980's, the RP2 (which is now suspended from the Commons Dining Hall) housed its pilot in a fully-enclosed cockpit.
