"Style"
refers to a consistent pattern of grammar and usage, usually (but not always) a subset of edited standard English. A particular author or publication may be characterized by a recognizable style, and many people set a high value on a style that communicates clearly, forcefully, and gracefully.

Achieving such a style in your own writing is hard work, demanding careful attention to grammar and usage. However, it is worth the effort because a clear and graceful style gets your message across effectively and contributes to your credibility.
