Cyberspace Copyright: Glossary
There are very few terms that really need to be defined for the purpose of this
document. However, there are some terms whose definitions may not be
immediately apparent and it is necessary for the reader to have a clear
definition of each term. Most of these definitions are our defintions
and based on how we will use the terms. The remainder should be
common knowledge, but are still very relevant.
- code
- Refers to HTML tags used to create documents for the WWW.
- content
- Any text and/or graphics as used to contribute to the
meaning of a document.
- formating
- The physical layout of a document as dictated by the
embedded HTML tags.
- graphic
- Any non-textual element, not specifically included in the
HTML specification, that is added to the document.
- HTML
- Hypertext Markup Language, the standard set of tags used on
the World Wide Web to create Web pages.
- material world
- The non-cyberspace world.
- papertext
- Any work produced on paper.
- WWWWorld Wide Web
