Her question to me at the time, and one that I am still in the process of answering, was this: "Why?" In essence, "what can this do that isn't already being done?" When we discussed what could be included in such a resource, the list of potential additions grew quickly, but the meta-question remained; isn't this already being done elsewhere? Isn't this simply a different medium for discourse already ongoing? Doesn't the web primarily increase accessibility to the kinds of information we are already using?
The short answer is "yes." But increasing the accessibility to that information, providing a different medium for the discourse, is at once also changing the way the discourse is conducted, and changing the types of informational bits and bytes which comprise that discourse. The elements of the still-in-progress Rhetorical Invention Homepage reflect this change.
