Library PINs and Ingenta passwords provide access to different library information systems. They are not the same as RCS or SIS passwords. RINs (Rensselaer Identification Numbers) appear on Rensselaer ID cards and are used in conjunction with library PINs for library authentication.
Library PINS

To view this information via a telnet session, logon to RCS, enter the command sis at the UNIX prompt and select the "Library Information" menu option.Your Library PIN permits you to access your library borrowing record in order to:
(Rensselaer alumni and unaffiliated library users may obtain Library PINs and pseudo RINs from the Architecture and Folsom Circulation Desks.) If you forget your library PIN, library staff can assign you a new temporary PIN, but you must contact the Folsom or Architecture Library Circulation Desks in person to do this (circadm@rpi.edu or 276-8310). Rensselaer faculty, students and staff must use this link to update personal directory data (e.g. address, phone number). Alumni and other "courtesy" borrowers may contact library circulation desks. Changing Your Library PINTo change your library PIN, go to https://opac.lib.rpi.edu/patroninfo, and log in using your RIN and your original library PIN. On the next web page, click on the "Change your PIN" link.
When you change your Library PIN, the original PIN is not updated on your RIN/PIN page, and will no longer work. Ingenta Passwords
