Appointed Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University.

Appointed Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue.

Appointed Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University.

1961

During the first session of the 87th Congress he served as special consultant to Congressman John Brademas of Indiana.

1965

Named Associate Dean of the Schools of Engineering at Purdue, then Dean in 1967.

1971-1976

President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
