Biographical Note

Carl Augustus Bostrom was born April 29, 1879. He attended Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. He entered Rennselaer September 1898 and graduated with a degree in civil engineering in 1901. He married Elizabeth Penniman Walter of Brunswick, GA in 1917. He was Lt. Commander, Civil Engineering Corp in the U.S. Navy, Bureau of Yards and Docks and was stationed for a time in Charleston, S.C. Carl A. Bostrom died of pneumonia February 26, 1918 in a Virginia Naval hospital.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of pencil and ink illustrations drawn by Bostrom during his youth. The drawings include illustrations used for books and the 1901 Transit yearbook.
