Local Entrepreneurs Speak at September 19 Kickoff of Entrepreneurs’ Breakfast Series for Rensselaer Students and Community

	Gina O’Connor, associate dean and professor at the Rensselaer Lally School and director of the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, welcomes guests at the start of the panel event.

On Sept. 19, a panel of local entrepreneurial experts, who help young companies develop and execute their marketing strategy, shared their experience and strategies at the kickoff of the Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Group series at the Century House in Latham.

Fifty Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student entrepreneurs and 47 community business members attended the first event titled, "Marketing for Startups." Three local entrepreneurs and marketing experts discussed marketing strategy, approach, and tactics for startups and small businesses.

The panel members and local entrepreneurs included: Susan Bardack, co-founder/CEO, Buzz Media Solutions; Dave Borland, principal, Chief Marketing Officer, Burst Marketing; and Peter Dean, president, Rendertribe. For panel bios, click here.

The Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Group is a Rensselaer-community collaborative sponsored by the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, a center in the Rensselaer Lally School of Management and Technology.

The group serves as a nexus for the young innovators and researchers at Rensselaer to engage with business leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, discuss emerging research, and stay informed of current strategic and global trends. The events also provide an informal forum for business exchanges.

The next group meeting will be held on November 14.
