Dr. Peters is an expert in the areas of information systems, specifically business analytics using data warehousing and data mining, and organizational behavior focusing on change management. She has held professional positions in manufacturing engineering at Texas Instruments and computing logistics at General Electric. She has previously been a faculty member at The College of Saint Rose, Cornell University, Union College, and Skidmore College; teaching over 130 sections of courses in the multiple disciplinary areas of organizational behavior and information systems. She is a two-time nominee for the Rensselaer Trustees Outstanding Faculty Award, and recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award and the Deans Total Educator Award at the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer.
Dr. Peters has contributed chapters in several books, and she has written white papers and technical course materials such as: The Role of Analytical Technology in Decision Making, Data Warehouses, and Multidimensional Databases; and Data Mining Operations, Techniques, and Algorithms. Her case study, “Molding Transactional Data into Decision Making Information,” was presented at the IEEE Computer-Based Medical Systems Proceedings in Houston. She was keynote speaker for the New York State Association of Women Educators, “Creating and Using Teams in a Collaborative Work Environment,” and regularly participates in database analytics conferences such as UML World Conference Data Modeling and Object Oriented Development; Enterprise Data Forum-Data Integration, Modeling, and Analytics; and Data Integration, Data Warehouse, and Data Modeling.
Dr. Peters is sought out for her expertise in information systems integration and quality management for multiple New York and Connecticut State Agencies such as: the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, New York State Governor’s Office of Employee Relations, New York State Commission of Pilots, New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, New York State Higher Education Services Corporation, New York State Albany Port District Commission, New York State School Administrators, and the State of Connecticut Judicial Information Systems Group. She provides information technology integration consulting services to private sector organizations in medical services, environmental testing, machine tooling, and industrial filtration production. |
