and System Identification of Geo-Systems

Workshop Description:

Inverse problem and system identification techniques play an important role in the characterization and modeling of the response of geo-systems. These techniques are expected to have in the future an ever growing impact on the ways we monitor, model, analyze and design geo-systems. The Inverse Problem Center at RPI (IPRPI, www.iprpi.rpi.edu) is planning a day-long workshop to discuss recent developments and the role of Inverse Problems and System Identification of Geo Systems in advancing the current state of knowledge in Geomechanics. The workshop will consist of 5 comprehensive talks with ample time for discussions

The workshop will be held in the Fischbach room located in the Folsom Library, on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus in Troy.

A/V Equipment:
The workshop will provide a computer projector and an overhead projector. If additional equipment is needed, please advise.

Formal registration is needed.

Parking and Transportation:
Campus parking permits can be obtained through the front desk of the Franklin Inn & Suites, or by contacting Kim Boyce.

Transportation will be available from the Franklin Inn & Suites to RPI campus. An RPI shuttle will be stationed at 8:00AM in front of the hotel to transport participants to the campus. Participants will be dropped off at JEC Circle just a few steps away from the Folsom Library.
