Money Survey Results

Destiny, Helen, and Akenndia surveyed 17 other youth, ages 9-17. We surveyed three boys and fourteen girls and found out the following results from our survey:

1. The majority said that success doesn't equal money.
"Success is what you make of your life".
"Success is setting a goal and then accomplishing it".
"Success equals money because it can get you a long way".

2. When we asked if they were to win a million dollars they said they would buy:
an entire mall, cars, clothes, a mansion, pay off bills, bike,
computer, new bedroom set, save money for college, go on vacation, compact discs and player.

3. When we asked if a lot of money would change them,
the majority said "It wouldn't change who I was".
One person said, "I would help out more people".
Someone else said,"I think it would probably make me greedy".

4. When asked if money was power seven of the seventeen surveys said that it's power because you can own a big business and be the boss.
One person said "Money is power and it isn't because you can be powerful with or without money."

5. Our fifth question was how is money control? The majority answered that it was not control, but some said that it was like control in the same way that it was like power.

6. When asked if there were a rich person in front of you what would you ask them?
How did you get your money?
How did being rich change your life?
Why they treat less fortunate people like they are lowlives or sub-human?
I would ask them for some money. And to help me get that kind of money.

7.The people they considered rich are:
people like the president and celebrities
people who have mad money
people with a loving family with money that can get them through each day
people with millions of money
Donald Trump, movie stars and athletes

8. When asked about economic subjects that are being discussed by government the majority said welfare. Other answers include: money being sent to other countries, people with no jobs, education, taxes and the deficit.

9. The last question was how does society perceive people with less money?
A lot of people said that society views people with less money as poor, lower class, scummy, they think they aren't nice, they steal, do drugs, one person said "They don't really do much about it which I think is wrong because everybody should be treated equally."
