The world of the pond is the home of many plants and animals. The makers of the pond are beavers. They build a home called a beaver dam that blocks almost all the water in the stream which backs up to form a pond. There are over 100 different kinds of insects that make their home by the pond. A few of them are water mites, worms, mosquitoes, backswimmers, water striders and dragonflies. Reptiles, amphibians and birds also live by the pond. Lots of unusual plants live in the pond. Basically the pond is a wonderful place!
