Explanation of changeover:
In August of 2002, we in IACS finished moving all of our supported computers into the new Windows2000 domain (win.rpi.edu).This change all but eliminated the antiquated RPI domain, previously used for desktop workstations and Citrix servers. All effected computers and servers now require users to log into the WIN domain, using their RCS password. This password is now the same one used to log into the desktop, Citrix applications, email, and other RCS resources.
Who is affected:
Citrix Servers: Everyone who connects to our Citrix servers to run published applications, such as Banner, Appworx, Axis, or Symtrix.Workstations: Only departments that we directly administer (see the list on the About Us page). Other departments may be set up similarly, but we are not involved in their administration.
Helpful links:
Change RCS password - You will need to do this once (even if you set it back to the same thing), before you log on for the first time.- You will first be prompted to enter your current RCS password (the one you use for email).
- You may choose any password, but we recommend using the same one you use for the RPI domain, if possible.
- For more information on changing passwords, check out: Changing Your RCS Account Password
RCS Mail Forwarding - All of the departments we administer are currently using Outlook for email and scheduling. For this to work, email needs to be forwarded to the exchange server in the WIN domain.
- You will first be prompted to enter your current RCS password (the one you use for email).
- Following the onscreen instructions, enter <userid>@win.rpi.edu as the address to forward to.
