| Defined Contribution Retirement Program Summary | Details | Documents Regular or fixed-term employees scheduled to work 1000 hours or more per fiscal year may enroll in the Rensselaer Defined Contribution Retirement Program. (Employees hired before February 1, 2006 and scheduled to work 720 hours per fiscal year, including at least 16 weeks of at least 20 hours, may also enroll.) Employees contribute 1 percent of gross earnings per pay period on a pretax basis. Rensselaer contributes 8 percent of the same applicable gross earnings. Retirement payroll deductions may commence the first of any month following the date of hire and receipt by Human Resources of completed Rensselaer and fund sponsor enrollment forms. |
Who is eligible? If you are a regular or fixed-term employee scheduled to work at least 1000 hours per fiscal year, and you are not currently actively participating in the Defined Benefit Retirement Plan, you are eligible to participate. However, if you were an active participant in the Defined Benefit Contributory Retirement Plan and elected not to participate in the Defined Contribution Retirement Program at either July 1, 1993 or July 1, 1994, you are not eligible to join this plan now. |
