| Dependent Child(ren) Tuition Summary | Details Regular full-time employees who complete three years of full-time continuous service (or regular part-time employees who complete an equivalent of 10 continuous years of full-time service*), are eligible for tuition benefits for up to eight undergraduate semesters (one-half this amount for part-time employees) for each eligible dependent child who is attending Rensselaer. Alternatively, Rensselaer will pay tuition up to $1,500 per semester ($750 for part-time employees) for eight undergraduate semesters at a Rensselaer-approved college/university. For course work taken outside of Rensselaer, at a Rensselaer-approved college/university, each employee is limited to an aggregate tuition benefit of $36,000 ($18,000 for part-time employees). The benefit for employees hired prior to October 1, 1978, is an annual amount not exceeding the lesser of 50 percent of the current Rensselaer tuition or the total semester's tuition at the other college. Fixed-term employees are not eligible for this benefit. |
Who is eligible? If you are a regular full-time employee who has completed three years of continuous full-time service, your dependent children under age 26 are eligible to participate. Dependent children under age 26 of regular part-time employees who have the equivalent of ten continuous years of full-time service credit* are also eligible.
* Part-time employees receive one-half year of service credit for each year they work 1,040 hours or more. |
