The following notice is being provided as a result of the filing of an application for permanent alien labor certification for the position of Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. Any person may provide documentary evidence bearing on the application to the Certifying Officer of the Department of Labor. Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering

 

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Rensselaer County four year undergraduate and graduate education institution, seeks an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering.

 

JOB DUTIES: Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to establish a world-class research program with high impact and visibility, and be engaged in high quality teaching, advising and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Successful candidate is also expected to engage in a significant level of service to the department, the university, and the materials field.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Doctoral Degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The department has world-class programs in in nano- and bio-materials, electronic and energy materials, metals, ceramics, polymers, glasses and composites. While we will consider applications from outstanding candidates in all fields of materials science and engineering, we have particular interest in candidates with experimental expertise related to biomaterials, advanced energy materials, and nanomanufacturing. Candidates must have demonstrated outstanding potential and initial accomplishments in materials research, and show evidence of effective teaching.

JOB DUTIES: Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Supply Chain Management / Business Analytics. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the supply chain and analytics area, developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, as well as service to the School of Management and Rensselaer.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to demonstrate, through their records of accomplishments, promise of future distinction in scholarship and education. All areas of supply chain management will be considered with preference given to candidates with interests in strategic and organizational aspects of supply chain management and/or analytic aspects of supply chained combined with strong research ambition. Evidence of research potential and teaching effectiveness is required.

 

Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in Operations Management / Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline along with ability to demonstrate, through their records of accomplishments, promise of future distinction in scholarship and education.
