The proposed Red Hawk shuttle route has been designed to minimize negative neighborhood impact. The shuttle buses will travel in a circular route, picking up and dropping off passengers at every stop.
Buses will stop at an area near ’86 Field; stop at the Student Union; travel via 15th Street to Peoples Ave., then to the Field House (each lot); the buses will return via Peoples, 15th and Sage to the stop near ’86 Field.
The Red Hawk buses will operate Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. After hours, a Public Safety escort service will be available.
Shuttle service will consist of a fleet of RPI 12-passenger vans, operated under the supervision of the Department of Public Safety, Parking and Transportation. Drivers will be in direct radio communications with that office. All shuttle bus drivers will be Public Safety Specialists who will undergo safety awareness and security training.
The expected start date is the second week of August 2002.
