The Greening Program provides a variety of services for offices. We encourage you to let us know if you need any of these services or if you have any ideas on other ways to reduce waste and keep Rensselaer more environmentally sound.

Recycling Facilities
There is a central recycling location in each academic building where there are toters for various materials. Please collect your own recyclables and bring them to the toters periodically. Some departments find it convenient to assign a work-study student to this task. Occasionally a cleaning person will agree to empty recycling containers, but this is not generally their responsibility. Where are the toters? What can I recycle?

If you have furniture or office equipment that is no longer needed but still has some life left in it, please contact the Greening Office as soon as you can. For more information, click here.
Waste Disposal Concerns
The Greening Office handles all non-hazardous waste disposal on campus, so call here with any waste disposal questions.
Extra Recycling Bins
If you are cleaning out or moving your office and temporarily need extra recycling bins, let us know.
Green Office Assessment
We will come to your office and talk to you about your practices to determine what you're doing "right" from an environmental perspective and what you could improve. Please think about doing this soon!.
Environmental Education Center
Any member of the Rensselaer Community who has an interest in an environmental issue or a questions they need answered is encouraged to stop by the Environmental Education Center in Sage 2512. Please call the EEC at x2027 or see their web site to find out when it's open.
JOIN THE GREENING NETWORK!!!
We maintain a list of contact people throughout campus who are interested in helping to make Rensselaer more environmentally sound. We will send you information on new programs to share with your colleagues, and you will be able to contact us if you have any ideas on recycling or resource conservation.
