The mission of the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Research Lab (FCHRL) is to understand degradation processes in fuel cell materials and identify specific mechanisms through application of structure-processing-property relationships.

Located in the Materials Research Center the FCHRL objectives are to educate undergraduate and graduate students, perform fundamental research and to collaborate with industrial and government partners involved in the development of fuel cell and hydrogen storage technologies. Collaborations amongst faculty members and students in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Physics are common and reinforce the multidisciplinary nature of our research.
