- In chapter four (about Information Design) in Designing Business, Clemont
Mok talks about information arts as the "thoughtful arrangement of data." He
then describes a book as a highly-evolved information art form. Briefly
explain what he means by this, and explain why it is that there is no (at
least not yet) digital equivalent to the book as an information art form. (2
- Describe Mok's process of "information mapping" and how it relates to
information design. (2 points)
- Briefly describe the seven organization models that Mok discusses, and
how the computing media affects these models. (2 points)
- In her article (on the Web) Karen McGrane Chauss discusses the use of
color. List three ways that Chauss mentions for using color effectively on
the Web. (2 points)
- In the same article, she discusses the use of images. Discuss three
cautions Chauss has about using images (icons, etc.). (2 points)
- In the same article, discuss what she means by a "user analysis." (2 points)

- In class on February 12th, we looked at graphics. What was the main point
I was trying to convey about the rhetorical value of graphics? (2 points)
- Again on February 12th, we discussed five websites in class. Briefly
describe the critiques that I or anyone else in class had about the
effectiveness or use of graphics on any of these sites. (2 points)
- Today (February 26th) we talked about cognitive processing of graphics.
What is meant by the figure-ground relationship when we talk about
