January 15th Recap:
Thinking About Websites and Setting up Webpages

Throughout the semester, we’ll be looking at and designing websites. The two driving questions when doing this will be:

Both of these questions should be revealed through the use of language conventions, graphical devices, and hypertext navigation cues and interface conventions. If you can’t answer either of these questions, then chances are, the web is designed poorly.

To begin contemplating these two questions, look at the following websites and see if you can come up with answers to these questions by examining the language, graphics, and other rhetorical devices.
