Acquiring Your Laptop - Freshmen Fall 2009

As an incoming freshman, you have the following options:

• Purchase the laptop computer.
• Lease to own the laptop computer.
• Bring your own laptop computer. (If you choose this option, please keep in mind that your laptop is subject to minimum system requirements, so be sure to check with your curriculum advisor for any special software requirements.)

We recommend that your obtain your laptop computer through Rensselaer because of the special price and pre-installed software, as well as its compatibility with other systems on campus, and the availability of on-campus repair.

In early July, you should have received a mailing at your home/permanent address with information about your options and forms to let us know of your decision. When you have made your decision, return the appropriate form by Monday, July 27 to:

Mobile Computing staff will also be on hand during the July Student Orientation sessions to answer your questions and collect your form.
