Trade-Up Program

"Trade-up" to new, faster technology!

NewTimes to turn in your T43p or T60

What is "trading-up?

You can trade in your ThinkPad T43p or T60 for a credit on your student account toward the purchase of the Fall 2008 Mobile Computing Package including the IBM ThinkPad T61p.

Note that T60 laptops are beginning the third year of the three-year manufacturer's warranty and ThinkPad protection. The warranties on a T43p laptop will end in September. Find out the expiration date of your warranty.

  • If you trade in a T60, the T61p package will cost $1450.
  • If you trade in a T43p, the T61p package will cost $1550.

Full price for the T61p package is $1950.

To trade-up your laptop, you must complete both the trade-up form and the purchase form.

The credits above are for laptops in excellent condition. To get the highest credit for the laptop, at the very least, the laptop must be clean and in good working condition, include all parts, and the case must be intact and free of stickers and engraving. If the system has been damaged or has missing parts, it will not receive the full credit.

Laptops must be free of stickers and engraving. Warranty repairs must be performed before the warranty expires.

You must also return the battery, CD/DVD drive, and AC adapter and power cord.
You do not have to return the backpack, the ethernet cable, or the security cable.
