Research Areas

  1. Programming synthetic biomolecules to fabricate novel nanostructures / devices that work for sensors, drug delivery systems, and biophysical studies of protein-protein and other macromolecular interactions at the single molecule level.
  2. Molecular engineering at the genome level to transform live eukaryotic cells to study in vivo functional biomaterials self-assembly for the potential to edit cell metabolism, RNA-mediated therapeutics, and creation of novel proteins.
  3. Non-coding RNA (both long and short) mediated epigenetic inheritance in the ciliate Oxytricha Trifallax.
