Rensselaer Undergraduate Student Has Received ACS 2011 Student Leadership Award
Rensselaer undergraduate student, Melissa L. Clark (Junior, Chemistry Major), has received American Chemical Society (ACS) 2011 Student Leadership Award. This award recognizes Melissa as one of emerging leaders in our ACS student chapter network and helps them prepare for the leadership opportunities at volunteer organizations, such as ACS, and in their professional career. The committee recognizes her contributions and skills and believes that she has tremendous potential to be a successful leader.
As a part of the award and recognition, Melissa has been invited to participate in the conference of 2011 ACS Leadership Institute, which will be held at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas on January 21 - 23, 2011. At the conference, she will be paired with a participant from her Local Section and attend the Local Section Track, participate in sessions with the Younger Chemist Committee members, and brainstorm with other ACS student leaders. She will also have an opportunity to participate in a Leadership development course entitled "Engaging and Motivating Volunteers" from the ACS Leadership Development System.
