Darren Nakamura, junior
I have been doing research with Prof. McGown on gels made from one of the DNA bases that have interesting physical properties. These gels exist as liquids in lower temperatures but then form a more viscous or even solid gel at higher temperatures. I have been focusing on the effects that different amounts of each component have on the properties of the solutions, and I am beginning work on understanding the underlying structural mechanism behind this interesting behavior.
