I completed my doctoral thesis in Chemical Engineering on the topic of "Nonlinear Model-Based Discrete-Time Control of Chemical Processes" in 1994. I had post-doctoral appointments at Lehigh and Carnegie Mellon. After spending six months with Scientific Systems I returned to India to begin a research position at TATA R&D in Pune.
