Philadelphia is the one of the oldest cities in the United States, having been founded by William Penn in 1682. The First Continental Congress met at Carpenter's Hall in 1774, and in 1787 the Constitutional Convention was held at Independence Hall. Philadelphia served as the U.S. capital from 1790 to 1800. With a history this rich, visits to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and other historical sites will be uniquely remembered by participants and their families.
