ANTIBIOTIK JSC or Antibiotic Company was founded in 1954 as the first fermentation facilities for production of penicillin were put into operation. During the following four decades, the company expanded its production capacity and product structure. In 1959, technologies for production of streptomycin and Vitamin B12 were added. In 1964, production of tetracycline was started. Production of aminoglycoside antibiotics was started in 1974, and production of semisynthetic penicillins and cephalosporin s was initiated in 1982.
The company became a joint-stock company (JSC) in 1991 and is now internationally
recognized for manufacture of bulk antibiotics and preparations for human
and veterinary medicine. The company has adopted good manufacturing
practices (GMP) and emphasizes maintaining and upgrading GMP certificates
for its products.
