Final Clarifiers

Once the flow has passed through the aeration tanks, it moves to the final
clarifiers. Here the velocity is slowed to allow the sludge to settle. The
final clarifiers are a set of four 65 feet by 20 feet by 10 feet tanks with
Clarivac units installed. Along the
outer edge of the Clarivac are pipes which lead out from the clarifier to
sludge troughs. Once the siphon is set up no further pumping is required. The
sludge troughs drain into an 18 in pipe which feed the RAS pump. The
effluent weirs extend out about 15 feet from the end of the clarifiers. Each
tank has a set of two which connect to a pipe leading into the chlorine contact
tank.
