Processing with Microorganisms

Our course Introduction to Biochemical Engineering has in the past reviewed both microbiology and biochemistry because there was no way to be certain that the students had adequate understanding even if they had passed courses in these subjects. With the World Wide Web available, there is no longer need to repeat background material because the engineering topics can be linked back to supporting topics in a timely fashion. This streamlining allows more time for teaching engineering.

While helpful links are in many of the pages for our course and more are being added as time permits, this page sets the stage for microbial processes and links to some topics the will come up again later in the courses.
