Fed batch fermentation

Start with a long interval and a small amount of feed to see what a typical batch fermentation looks like. Note that the cell mass declines. We will strive for a more constant cell concentration (green line) by feeding more nutrient. If we are depending on cells for a bioconversion, fed-batch is a way to overcome cell decline through death or growing too old for the job. When you have good settings, see what happens when the specific growth rate changes.
