There are season stratifications because of changes in temperature. There are no nixture of stratified waters.

In a lake we can find several zones

Epilimic zone-It´s a warm zone with a high concentration of oxygen. It has a lower density.Occurs photosynthetic production and minerals depletion.

Termoclime zone-In this zone occurs slow movement of water.

Hipolimic zone- It´s a zone of low temperature and low concentration of O2.

Low penetration of ligh limits photosynteses and because of that is rich in minerals.

When variation of temperature happends waters mix because of diferent densities.

With water mixing bloom of algae may occur because of nutrients, light and temperature in the lake.

Temperature determines the kind of microorganism that exists in a aquatic environment.
