Section Summary

In summary, you should have gotten an introduction to pipe networks and sewer systems. You should be able to identify the different aspects of head loss and havean idea how to calculate the head loss for a simple pipe network. You also should be able to transform a complex pipe network into an equivalent pipe system and to determine the flow in this system by using Hazen-Williams or Manning equations. You shouldalso have an idea of the different parts of a sewer and where you would need to begin in designing a sewer system.
