Supporters of Water Fluoridation

Water fluoridation is supported by many health organizations such as the American Public Health Association, U.S. Public Health Service, the American Dental Association, American Cancer Society, and the World Health Organization (2). Many antifluoridation groups are opposed to fluoridation. These groups believe that if there is a slight chance that fluoride might be harmful that it should not be allowed to be added to community water supplies. These groups believe that it is their right to choose whether or not they want fluoride added to their water. Many communities allow their community members to vote on the subject. Still antiflouridation groups believe that fluoridation should be left up to the individual.
