Graph of Polynomial
With a very high order of polynomial, you can fit any data set. This exercise
lets you experiment with a polynomial that only goes to X cubed. The center
line for Y = 0 is yellow. There are no numbers on the axes, but you should
be able to estimate them from the coefficients (hint: use a to calibrate
the Y-axis). You start with each coefficient equal to zero. Please experiment
with them one at a time to see what happens. Note that the graph is very
sensitive to the coefficients for X squared and X cubed, so the scrollbars
are set to give quite small numbers.
