Dr. Joe Chow is a Professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer & Systems Engineering at Rensselaer and an expert in power grid control. Dr. Chow received his MS and PhD degrees from the University of IL. He worked in the Power Systems business at GE for 9 years before joining Rensselaer in 1987. Dr. Chow leads the RPI team recently awarded $2M Grant for the Engineering Research Center CURENT – Center for Ultra-wide-area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission awarded by NSF.
