Announcement:
Professor G. Ramanath of the Materials Science and Engineering Department has been
appointed Director of the Center for Future Energy Systems (CFES), effective May
1, 2008. Ramanath is a nationally and internationally recognized researcher in the
area of nanomaterials and thin films. During his 10 years at
Professor Ramanath's broad research and leadership experience will ensure that CFES will continue to develop into a focused, well-funded, highly recognized, and dynamic energy and energy sustainability research center. In collaboration with faculty, staff and students from all schools and departments and in partnership with other institutions, he will build diverse research programs and solve important problems that derive from practical needs in the energy industry.
