Attention Students -
Many students have reported receiving emails regarding employment opportunities from companies using non-corporate email accounts. These companies are claiming that the student's resume was sent to them by the CCPD; please be aware this is not the case. Employer contacts are required to have a valid corporate email address in order to create an account with us. There is a service we offer employers referred to as "Resume Books" in JobLink, but employers are vetted and validated before receiving that service.
Tips for Caution:
•Be cautious and be smart. If it sounds too good to be true, most likely it’s too good to be true.
•Any job related inquiries should always come from a valid employer address, not accounts like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, and other non-corporate emails. These should be considered suspect and reported to the CCPD.
•If you use other job search sites and your email is public, this could be increasing your chances of receiving spam-like messages regarding employment.
•Your resume is automatically included in the resume books in JobLink. While each employer is vetted before receiving this service, if you would like to prevent your resume from being included in resume books you can do so by changing your privacy settings in JobLink.
If you receive spam-like messages via email or on other sites such as LinkedIn, please feel free to reach out to us so we can assist in handling the situation. The CCPD will validate if an employer works with us or can confirm if your resume was received from JobLink.
