There are no specific prerequisites by the Department.
Co-op program and potential course conflicts:
Sophomore Year
Fall Term: Multivariable Calculus and Matrix Algebra can be taken during the Junior year; in place of Methods of Theoretical Physics, the student should seek advisement from Physics faculty for a suitable substitution course.
Spring Term: Take Intro. to Differential Equations the preceeding summer; Experimental Physics can be taken in the Junior or Senior year.
Junior Year
Fall Term: Intermediate Mechanics can be taken in the senior year, but Quantum Physics or an equivalent Reading course should be arranged during the previous summer.
Spring Term: This is the heaviest semester of coursework; for those contemplating graduate studies, the material covered in this semester is important for the GRE. Otherwise, the courses can be arranged in the Spring Term of Senior year.
Senior Year
Fall Term: There are no required courses on the schedule in this semester. This is the best opportunity for a co-op assignment without affecting the schedule.
