Due to rolling blackouts in the Northeast, Rensselaer will close the Troy and Hartford campuses today at 2:00 p.m. All lighting, computers, and other equipment which are not critical should be turned off before you leave.
There may be staff in critical areas who will be required to remain at work. Each Vice President and Dean will designate the area/employees who will be required to remain at work beyond 2:00 p.m. These employees will be allowed equal time off. Each Vice President and Dean is responsible for designating the applicable time-off for employees who are required to work.
The time off should be coded on payroll sheets as "other paid time" (OTH). The same code would be used for those employees who are required to work beyond 2:00 p.m. and elect to take alternate time off.
Please be advised, that staff who were previously scheduled for vacation, or who have requested sick or bereavement leave on or before this closing are not eligible to receive "other paid time."
The Troy and Hartford campuses are expected to re-open for business Monday morning.
