City of Troy Boil Water Advisory
October 16, 2017

The City of Troy has issued a Boil Water Advisory as a result of a low pressure condition in the City Water System caused by a waterline repair on Pawling Avenue.

This Boil Water Advisory will be in effect until further notice for the Main Campus, East Campus, Colonie Apartments, and Polytech Apartments.

Blitman Commons, City Station, Chasan Building, Proctors and the Gurley Building are not affected by this Boil Water Advisory.

Students who live in off campus neighborhood housing located between Congress Street and Frear Park Road are affected by the Boil Water Advisory.

During this Boil Water Advisory occupants of the affected Rensselaer buildings and off campus neighborhoods should not use the drinking fountains and tap water for drinking or culinary purposes unless the water is brought to a boil for at least one (1) minute. It is recommended that bottled water be used for drinking or culinary purposes.

The City of Troy will be testing the water system over the next few days and will provide an update at that time. Rensselaer will issue a follow up announcement when the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
