Automation Components for Simulation-Based Engineering

Simulation-based Engineering is a growing area of interest both in research and in industry today. This presentation will discuss some of the issues associated with simulation-based Engineering as well as a component software based approach used by Simmetrix technology to approach these requirements.


Joe Walsh has 30 years of experience and expertise in the CAE, CAD, interoperability and component software industries. Mr. Walsh is currently the Vice President Business Development for Simmetrix and is responsible for all commercial business activities for Simmetrix including sales, marketing and business relationships related to software licensing for Simmetrix. He has worked for Simmetrix since March 2002. Before joining Simmetrix Mr. Walsh was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for IronCAD LLC, Vice President of North American Sales for Spatial Corp., partner and founder of New Renaissance which specialized in custom automation of CAE related processes and CAD/CAE data interoperability solutions, President and CEO of FEGS Inc., the North American subsidiary of FEGS, Ltd. of Oakington, England (North of Cambridge),President and CEO of PAFEC Inc., the North American subsidiary of PAFEC Ltd. of Nottingham, England, Director of Engineering Applications for Clevenger Corporation and approximately 10 years as an engineering analyst specializing in CAD/CAE integration, CAE automation, and design optimization. Mr. Walsh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the spring of 1978.
