To use this application, you must have changed your password within the
last 6 months. By clicking the link above, you will be taken to a secure server. Be prepared to enter your RCS ID and password.
This web based tool provides access to much of the information available
about your RCS account and resource usage.
For billable items such as printing and disk usage, totals will be
transferred, at approximately monthly intervals, to the Banner system.
This tool allows you to display the detailed figures on which these totals
are based.
Authentication
Before you can use this facility, you need to authenticate yourself to the
system. You do so by providing your RCS account and password in the
boxes provided. You must have changed your password within the last 6 months
for succesful authentication.
To provide some measure of security, the authenticated connection you
establish to the system will time out after a period of inactivity. If
this occurs and you want to continue examining or updating your user information,
reload the page and you will be able to reauthenticate.
After authentication, you will
be presented with an initial display. The tabs above the display allow
you to select the types of information to display.
Disconnecting
Rather than relying on the session timeout, it is more secure to disconnect
from the service when you have finished. Click the "Logout" button and then
close the window.
Accounts
The first panel displayed after authentication shows your RCS account(s). Apart
from this panel, all information displayed by this utility relates to the
account you used to authenticate. If you wish to see information for any
other accounts you own, close the window, reload the page and authenticate
with that account.
Print usage
Clicking on the Printing tab will display a summary table of your RCS print
and plot usage. Plot jobs are treated in the same way as print jobs. Each
row in the table corresponds to one billing period of roughly a month.
Double-clicking on a row will replace the display with more detailed information:
the usage on each printer for that period. Double-clicking on one of these
rows will display the individual job entries for that printer in that billing
cycle.
Currently, the print statistics are updated overnight so there will
be no information about jobs printed today.
At the summary level, the columns displayed are:
user |
The RCS userid. |
charge |
The charge for the billing period. |
start |
The starting date of the billing period. |
end |
The ending date of the billing period. |
budget |
The budget number used for charging. For most people, there is only
one budget number used. |
name |
This should be your name. |
The next level of detail, reached by double-clicking a row, shows a
summary of jobs on each printer. The columns are
printer |
The name of the printer on which the jobs were printed. |
charge |
The charge for all jobs on that printer. |
type |
The type of jobs, could be print or plot. |
jobs |
The number of jobs. |
budget |
The budget number used for charging. |
The most detailed level is reached by double-clicking one of the printer
summaries. This level shows all the jobs on that printer during this period.
A negative charge is usually a rebated charge from this or an earlier billing
period. The columns are:
printer |
The name of the printer on which the job was printed. |
charge |
The charge for the job. |
rbt |
If checked this job has been rebated. The rebate record will appear
in the billing period in force when the job was rebated. |

Disk Usage
Disk charging information starts with the same form of display as print/plot.
Double clicks on each billing period will show a more detailed view of
how the charge was calculated.
EZ-Snapshot
This display provides information about charges for the RCS EZ-Snapshot
backup system. If you haven't registered for the service there will be
nothing displayed. The top level display is once again the same form as for
print/plot and disk. Double-clicking on a row will display information
about the state of nodes at the time the charge was made. In addition, there is a Current Usage button. This will show the
current space used by each registered node.
WebMail Quota
This panel displays any charges you have incurred through WebMail quota
changes. If you have the default quota no charges will be shown.
The values shown on the detail display are in megabyte units
(that is 1024 * 1024).
Library Information
This panel displays some information that may be of use when you access
the library services.
