Graduate Student Organizations
Biology Graduate Student Association
Rensselaer's Biology Graduate Student Association includes the following among its goals:
- Promoting students’ professional and scientific development
- Facilitating communication between the graduate students and the faculty
- Increasing interaction among graduate students
- Providing an organization to represent the interests of the graduate students
The group, which meets monthly during the academic year, has organized activities to welcome new graduate students to the department, and is currently planning to hold yearly research and professional development symposiums.
Rensselaer Biotechnology Student Association
This campus-wide student-led organization is composed of graduate and undergraduate students from the engineering, science and management schools at RPI. The club aims to:
- Create an awareness of biotechnology among the students and provide them with an exposure to the biotech industry to help them make good career decisions
- Provide a forum for students to learn from each other’s experiences in co-ops, internships and job experiences
- Foster interactions between the students themselves and with the biotech industry
- Encourage interdisciplinary participation in biotechnology seminars and symposiums
