How to Get the LaserWr 8.3.4-rpi Driver

The LaserWr 8.3.4-rpi driver is installed on the public macs. The instructions below describe how to get this driver and the relevant config files for your personal Macintosh.

First, open the Chooser and select Appleshare. Then select appletalk zone "rpi-its-vcc". In the list on the right side, select "MacGilead" and click OK. In the window that appears, select "Apple Standard UAMs" and click OK. In the next window, choose to connect as "Guest" (not Registered User) and click "Connect". In the next window, "public_g" should be already selected; click OK. At this point, you can close the chooser and double-click the public_g icon that should have just appeared on your desktop. In the window that opens, double-click on "Gilead Public".

There you will see a filename that starts with "LaserWr8 for RPI", followed by a date. That file is a self-extracting archive. Just double-click on it, and you will get a folder on your Mac. Inside that folder are several files, one of which is a readme file that will explain what to do with the other files.
