TRANSFER CREDIT

The information that follows will explain how an undergraduate student at Rensselaer should go about the process of obtaining academic credit for a course(s) taken at another college.

Students will often decide to take a course over the summer break for any number of reasons. For example:

  • "I've got a pretty tough combination of courses next fall or spring and maybe it would help to take one less course."
  • "I've got a course coming up that I know will be very difficult for me. Maybe it would be a good idea to take it without any other course work. I could then give this course my full attention."
  • "I'm playing a sport next fall and I think it would help my time management if I took one less course that semester."
  • "I just enjoy taking a course or two during the summer."
