Making Inferences

If you listen carefully to the speakers in a conversation, you may be able to make inferences about what they are saying. In other words, you might be able to make guesses or assumptions about the speakers' meaning or purposes.

Example: I know the woman and child had Conversation 1 because the boy called the woman "Mother."
