Favorite thing about Troy: As a native of Troy, I have many favorite spots across the city that I've been going to for as long as I can remember. In the warmer months, a classic go-to is Jack's Drive-In for some great sliders and then heading over to The Snowman for ice cream. My all-time favorite Troy restaurant though is Verdile's. The food is always delicious and the portions are huge. Their fettuccine alfredo with shrimp is the best I've ever had!

Territories: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New York (Long Island), Ohio

Territories: District of Columbia, Maryland, Michigan, New York (Capital District), Virginia, West Virginia

Favorite thing about Troy: I love to go to the Troy Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings, enjoy the free outdoor yoga classes near the Hudson River on Sunday mornings, and discover the cute new boutiques downtown. My favorite restaurants are Bombers Burrito Bar (you have to try the Piggy Fries) and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que!

Territories: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York (Rockland County, Brooklyn, Westchester), Oklahoma, Nebraska

Favorite thing about Troy: Ali Baba Mediterranean restaurant- it is a short walk from campus, and the fresh-baked lavash with yogurt sauce is amazing!

Territories: Delaware, Massachusetts (Western), Minnesota, Pennsylvania

Favorite thing about Troy: I love going out to Grafton State Park and kayaking and going for hikes around the lakes. In downtown Troy, I love the wood-fired pizza at Bacchus!

Favorite thing about Troy: I love the variety of cultural activities and festivals offered throughout the year. From concerts in EMPAC and the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, to summer concerts along the Hudson River the music scene in Troy is vibrant. Troy Night Out, Chowderfest, the Pig Out, and the Victorian Christmas Stroll are great annual events that bring the local community together.

Territories: Massachusetts (Eastern)

Favorite thing about Troy: B-rad’s Bistro (The Caprese! It’s the best sandwich in town. I add chicken to mine and a side of onion rings, which makes it even better!)

Territories: Guam, New York City, Puerto Rico, Texas

Favorite thing about Troy: My favorite way to spend a Saturday in Troy is to go to the Farmer’s Market then check out a new restaurant downtown. So far my favorite restaurant has been The Whistling Tea Kettle. They have great panninis, sandwiches, soups, etc. and a wide variety of hot and iced tea. There is something for everyone!

Territories: Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Wisconsin

Eric R. Ouellette
Assistant Director
Favorite thing about Troy: My favorite place in Troy is the Recovery Sports Grill located in the Hilton Garden Inn. Being a New England Sports fan in New York makes it difficult for me to watch all of my favorite teams on local TV-the Recovery Sports Grill always has every game on the big screens including the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics.

Territories: Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington

Nicholas J. Rosato

Favorite thing about Troy: Troy Night Out – a monthly arts and cultural event the last Friday of every month in downtown Troy. It’s a great opportunity to check out the local, unique shops, art galleries, musicians, and restaurants.
