Choosing the Right Graduate Application

When deciding which graduate application to complete, students should consider the following:

• A student with a bachelor’s degree who is interested in completing a Ph.D. degree should apply using the Masters/Doctoral Degree Application (PDF).
  
  
• Students with a bachelor’s degree who are interested in completing n MBA should apply using the MBA application (PDF).
  
  
• The Rensselaer graduate program is research based.
  
  
• Financial aid in the forms of fellowships, research and teaching assistantships are offered to the most competitive applicants, usually those who apply to Ph.D. programs.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for veterans, and will continue its long commitment to support of the armed services.

Dual Degree Process
Applicants may apply only to one degree program per term. Students interested in a dual degree should pursue additional degrees/applications once enrolled at Rensselaer. Please contact your department for more information.

Early Admissions to Graduate Studies
Current Rensselaer undergraduate students with strong academic records may apply to the Admissions Office for graduate studies as early as the junior year. If they are considered academically qualified by the department and by the Admissions Office, students may be admitted and pursue both undergraduate and graduate degrees simultaneously. The bachelor’s degree must be completed concurrently with, or prior to, the master’s degree.
